Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 242 What a mess!!!!!

Why on earth would I be mad enough to put photos of this total wreck on public view?  Well, it is the brainchild of Julia  our esteemed leader, who can be found at Stamping Ground.

This is not the worst I could have shown you. Before I got to this stage, the camera batteries were all flat.  At that point, there was no chance of even getting to the chair.

Even the dogs could not find a way in.  Since then, I have transferred a lot of things without a home to two empty bookcases on the landing for future sorting to permanent positions. I have put all my lovely new Clarity things there, so they are safe, and it will be the inspiration to find them a proper home right next to me, as I know they will be the things I really want to use.  There is method in this madness or to quote Barbara Gray "I have a plan".

Even this heap by the door is less than it was.  The recycling bin is now full to the brim with all the boxes and envelopes that I have now emptied and sorted where possible.

Now I can get in the room, I have a chance to clear my desk and do some real crafting at last.  That will be such a joy.  Meanwhile, I shall have a play with one of Barbara Gray' s project, which is zentangle or filigraphy.  If that goes well, I may show results tomorrow.  More photos of the recovery of this room will also follow.

Meanwhile, do go off to Julia's for a cup of coffee and a view of loads more desks, messy or tidy.  Better still why don't you join in with us.  Come on, bare all (your desk, that is) and have fun.  Full details can be found on Julia's blog.  It is easy.

That dog better have a reverse gear or it will be stuck! Always nice once the sorting and organising is done and dusted. The actual process is time consuming and a pain! #25

Well done on the tidying! I love sorting stuff out and recycling/throwing away. It cleans the soul as well as the space, I think!! I hate wasting time fruitlessly searching for something I need, I need all my essential tools to hand. Hope you are well!

i can usually manage to craft in a 12 x 12 square, well I have to because there is so much stuff on the rest of my desk. Seems like everyone is having a tidy up session. Glad you are on top of it now and can get crafty.
Love the dog snooping in the corner.

Wow! I recently rearranged my whole craft room and it looked much like that! So satisfying when you can finally sit at your desk again.

Thanks for sharing.

I do love a good before and after shot Maggie, I'm just hoping this is the before!! You've got your work cut out there, but I know you'll get through it, and moving things out of the room for safety is a good idea. Nothing worse than realising you chucked something you wanted, and paid money for, in the bin! I need to have a good tidy up in my room, the floor is becoming dangerous!

Good to see you are working your way back into your room

Seems like you are being very productive there! love your little helper that got in there! I spot an ATG gun box, and it reminded me I rec'd one of those as a gift and never learned how to use it properly. Must dig it out again and give it a try. Took a break from shoveling, so it is off to get more of the place cleared out. We got 14 inches last night. UGH. Hubby did most of this but had to go to work, I played hooky! Winnie#68

Hi Marg, glad the organising is going well.It makes everything so much more relaxing when you can put your hands straight onto the item you want, rather than wasting all your intended crafting time searching for something you know you have 'somewhere'. Big place, that 'somewhere'.Speak soon,Love, Shaz #33 xx

Wow! That is quite the disaster area you have going there. But it does sound like you (and the dog) got access to the room again so that is a start. Where does all this stuff come from??! I think it breeds when we aren't looking. Hopefully it will all fall into place swiftly.

Thank you for sharing. I think January has been the month for quite a few crafters die cluttering their craft room.

When I put things in a box to be sorted at a later date it usually means they live in the box for a year! Hope you get your tidying done quicker than me!!
Happy Wednesday

I would be fearful to show my room today...someone would send that show "Hoarders" out to do an intervention on me! I have so much stuff and so little space I need to move so I can enjoy it all. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. The acceptance is a word/action I don't have a lot of practice using with myself. I need to accept my physical limitations, I need to accept my art is good, I need to accept things I can't change and get on with it....get the idea. It is so hard though isn't it. Little late getting around this week but hey if I had come Wednesday I would have missed your previous posts! Hope you have a crafty week! Vickie aka Okienurse #53

For being #1, I'm pretty slow getting here. I tell people, because I LOVE organizing, it's always worst right before the entire thing comes together.

I swear Maggie, you must have a FORTUNE tied up in those clear plastic containers. I see them in every photo. I have plastic container envy about now. Guess I should say happy belated WOYWW on Saturday. Really belated!!
