Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW 293

Hope you are not all marooned by the ten foot of snow that was forecast by the doom laden panickers.  Before you all shout at me, I do realise that some of you might have a lot of snow and I am probably tempting fate, but, hey, it is winter and we do have weather in this country.  A snowy day is a good crafting day.

Not a lot to see here as there has been a major tidy up down here.  This is not my real desk, just the overflow but at least I can see most of the floor in here now.  Well, I could last night, which is when this picture was taken.

Some of you who have come from other areas than Julia's welcoming blog,  may now be wondering why on earth I should show you a picnic table with ink pads and a stamp folder on, not to mention a part bottle of Vodka and a tot glass etc.    Just follow this link to visit Julia who will explain it so much better than I can.

I am still cataloging all my stamps, having got most of them now into sensible groups in albums.  All my trees are now together, all my people in another folder and so on.  The sharp eyed will notice that the leaves on my Clarity stamp album have changed colour, partly because it helps to find a given file, partly because it looks pretty and partly because I was bored one day and had a load of Promarkers to hand.

The vodka is actually for crafting purposes, to add to ink misters to prevent the contents going off.  The glass was full of Heather Cream (a Baileys taste alike but lighter) and the ink pads came in a special off from Clarity and are just waiting to go back up to the craft room proper for putting away.

I hope you all get the weather you need for whatever you want to or have to do.  Take care on any ice and have a good day.  Now, it is time you trotted back to Julia to see what other desks are on show over there.

Have fun!

I was just thinking that we never used to get all these weather warnings - it's winter, it gets cold and wet and windy and sometimes it snows! get on with it... still I hope we don't get hit cos it's such a pain! Sounds like you're doing a great job sorting your stamps. Helen #5

"The vodka is for crafting purposes" ...yes Maggie, of course it is Maggie! Funny thing is I actually believe you! Now the Heather Cream or Baileys sounds much more me!
I did indeed spot the leaves on your Clarity folder ... any excuse for colouring-in, eh?!?!?
Well done with all the sorting out you have done - knowing very well the amount of stamps you have I totally appreciate what a task you have accomplished. Happy WOYWW'ing my dear friend. Love Debbie (no time to WOYWW this week :( ) xXx

Goodness, Maggie, you really are having a sort out aren't you?! It will be so worth it when you're done though and know exactly what you've got and where it is. I think sorting like this is cathartic - I really enjoy doing it, sad huh?! Lol

Great system for organising your stamps, I think I would rather drink the vodka and not worry about the ink misters going off. Truly:)

Hi Maggie! Ah, that's vodka for crafting! I thought it was gin for drinking, LOL! I've recognized the Clarity stamp folder on your desk. I signed up for their stamp and stencil club last year on a whim, but I think I may have made a mistake. I wish I had just bought a few stamps/stencil that I really wanted instead. The ones I'm getting each month, I don't have much use for. I might just sell them on eBay. Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #47

Not sure I believe your story on the vodka! I have Baileys and Southern Comfort in my craft room and I don't use those for crafting!!
LOL!

Well, of course the vodka is for crafting purposes! Yours is an interesting use for it and I'll have to pass that tip on to my mister using pals. It sounds like you are doing well with your reorganization project and still having a little time to play and color. That's important. Judy #74

It snowed here last night while I slept, but not as much as the doomsday people are saying. After all, it's winter in MY country, too (grin).

Looks like you have a far better organization system than I have. Of course, I don't have that many UMs and I'm not fond of clear stamps. I can't seem to get them to work.

Thanks for visiting while I slept. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Hi Maggie..no snow here ... thankfully although Friday would be nice as I'm not working so would have an excuse to stay in and craft ( not that I need one).
hope you get all the stamp organising done .... its a dirty job but someone has to do it

Maggie, Happy New Year! I just saw your comment at another blog, and wanted to pop round to say hello, as we haven't 'visited' in a while. Hope things are going well for you so far into 2015. Loved seeing your organization project, and that is a beautiful cover. You handled your boredom much more productively than I ever do! (Got tons of stamps that do with what you're doing). I've never heard of the Vodka tip, so will check out that link, and thanks! Perhaps it might avoid clogging tips as well. Take care, hope all the snows will be feather light. And big hugs, TFS your so-neat craft space.

Well now someone who likes snow, or at least accepts it. Has been cataloging stamps (I just finished that this week!) and has moved down to be where her dogs are. You my fellow desker are my kinda lady!

Just calling in on a few I missed yesterday to say thank for calling by on me.
I'm with you on the weather warnings...what is a green warning for? no snow? hehehe Surely we should all just look out of the window in a morning and use a bit of common sense?
It looks like we have both been sorting this week too :-)

good luck with the organizing the vodka might come in useful for something other than misting at some point.

Doodling is good and you're right, you'll be able to spot that folder quicker now. Always nice to have some new goodies to start the year off with too. I didn't know it was going to snow in England again, I'll have to pop over the BBC news and see what's up!

PS. I hear vodka is very useful for as a household cleaner.... as in, the more I drink the cleaner the house looks!!!

Yah, the weather has been a bit over forecast for this area, I'm very glad to say! I like that you've ink pads waiting for a "proper' putting away, makes me smile...it's the whole problem with starting a satellite table elsewhere for your real room.....perhaps you should consider moving it downstairs?

Well I have got as far as putting everything into piles of butterflies/ flowers/trees/people/animals etc. Can't see the floor now. Are you sure your not telling porkie pies about the vodka cos I have heard tell it tastes mighty good too!!!!
Hugs Mrs A.
