Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 177

I hate glue ......I hate glue ....I hate glue  .... with a serious passion.  Sorry about starting with a moan but I have just spent two hours scraping at, spraying, scraping some more, spraying more to remove a complete can of Stick and Stay from my cupboard top, not to mention all the things around it that were contaminated.  For some reason it sprang a leak and I had not noticed until I decided to have a move around, went to move my Fiskars shaped scissors and found they were well and truly stuck.    One can of Spray Away, half a kitchen roll, and most of my nails has finally removed it all.

Having finished my moaning, I must get to the point of this post, which is to take part in the best blog hop of all.  It is called What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday - WOYWW, and is hosted by the very clever Julia at Stamping Ground.  Do pop over there and take a look at the amazing desks exhibited by friends from all over the world, showing their work, their workspace and beautiful photos and ideas.  When you have had a look, we would love you to leave us a little message so that we can return the call and make friends with you as well.

As a result of my sticky crisis, I have done no crafting at all today, although I have 11 cards to do in a hurry for myself, and three cards to do for the December Craft A Scene.  Mind you, I probably could not show you any cards even if  I had done them, as they are either for future publication or for people who might see them before they open the real thing.

I am in process of reorganising things in my room, to put the things I use very frequently close at hand, and to label boxes with what is actually in them, not what used to be there.  No wonder I can't find things (my labels are still AWOL).  By the way, does anyone have any clever ideas on what to do with all the original tops from Promarkers when  you have replaced them with the fine tips - I have dozens, and like a true crafter, I feel that there must be a good use for them rather than to just bin them.

This is actually a scheduled post, as I shall not be fit to write anything up on Wednesday morning and I am hoping to link up a bit earlier this week, perhaps before I get to bed.  I also hoped that I could get a photo without flash, but the daylight is just too poor today.  Roll on Spring, although given my advancing years, perhaps I should not wish any part of my life away.  Must make the most of every second.  I reckon care homes will have to change to accommodate us with our computers, internet access, wifi technology and our large crafting stash.

Hope to see you all later as I wander round your desks.  Have a good week.  xxx

I have a talent for getting glue everywhere as well - lethal, especially when there's glitter involved as well!!
And you're right about care homes - we'll be there plugged into the Net singing songs from Kylie or something!!

don't you just hate it when it springs a leak like that!! I had a whole bottle of PVA tip over and spring a leak in my carry bag and glued everything into a lump! Hope you have a great week. Vickie #91

Hi Marg- thank you for linking me- I expected to be at the end of a very long list when I got home at 3.00( after going to Tesco on the way home). Glue removal, try Sticky Stuff Remover- its on Amazon, and you can get it at Lakeland. Brilliant, brilliant stuff. By the way, what time does Julia do the post with Mr Linky in?Do you know? Hope the remainder of yoyr day is less stressful, love Shaz

Hi Maggie, your workspace is looking very tidy, so there are pluses to having to clean up glue! I would love to join in with WOYWW, but working full time my workspace on a Wednesday is generally filled with laptop or a pile of books to mark

Oh Maggie, I groaned when I read about the glue - how awful - and it had me rushing to my glue shelf to check my cans were still intact - they were.

You are going to be extra busy with that to-do list but the reorganising should help speed things up a bit. Can't help you with any suggestions on what to do with those tops but I'm sure there are some artful crafters out there bursting with ideas.

And, yes, we have got to make every second count - even the nasty winter ones :))

Wishing you a better day tomorrow and a great week ahead. Elizabeth x #114

Not sure what the stick n stay stuff is but it doesn't sound like fun to clean up. What's the red frizz bee looking object on the desk? And so true bout those old age homes.... LOL! Nan 27

Now I'm truly frightened. I never thought that a can of spray glue would LEAK! I can't even fathom the mess. I'd have just abandoned the place and lived in a cardboard box. Yep, it would be that serious.

I used to have all the things I used most frequently close to my desk but then what I used most often changed. I never changed the desk around. I ponder doing so from time to time but then I lie down until the feeling goes away. ha!

Oh dear, what a horrible mess! I would hate glue too, after all that. Perhaps you should give it up and just use tape and staples in the future -- show that glue who's boss!

You have me checking out my cans! No glue but different fixatives..would probably just poison me! No care home for me, I have it all planned out. Will get a big house and fill it with old crafters! We will all take care of each other!! Sandi #42

Is a wonder you weren't stuck to the desk in the middle of all the glue! What a horrible mess! I think the worst part is all the time spent cleaning it up, when all you really wanted to do was craft! However, I think I spend more time cleaning my craft room, than I do crafting....or so it seams...

So sorry to hear of your glue overflow problem, now that was a sticky situation to be in LOL...

sorry couldn't help myself.

Thanks for popping by my blog after Zeffy told of my VB disaster, hopefully they will post me a new one. I did send a rather nasty full electrical report telling them the things that they already knew. These people make me mad. I do have a trusty Big Shot but the b....y this squeeks when I turn the handle hence why I wanted the electric one. Ah these things are sent to try us. The VB machine has gone to hell and never coming back.

Oh onto nicer things, love your watercolour card on the newest post, just beautiful.

Hope you had some nails left at the end of the day. Most annoying as I suspect you had something else planned for your time. Hugs Mrs A.
