Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 148

Before I show you my desk this week, I want to thank all those who visited me to ask about my bee plague and, more importantly, how Flash is (Flash being the older of our two mad working cocker spaniels).  He is a week into his painkillers, and all of a sudden, he is bouncing around as normal.  He has lost his fear of going upstairs or up steps, and  his tail is wagging madly again.

Now, onto the main purpose of this post, - the state of my desk, for the weekly meeting of the WOYWWers, hosted by the lovely Julia..  You missed the five minutes when it was tidy on Monday morning.  I am now back to my normal state of doing five or more things at one time.

You can see some of my meagre stash of Promarkers, in use colouring in some Clarity stamps, and some other images printed off last summer.  My big problem with these is that I really need a lot more of the fine nibs to do the more delicate work and I am having to swap them from one pen to another, trying to remember to remove the ink from one before I start using the second colour.  Red in the middle of pale yellow is not a good look!

I was colouring a card when I realised I did not have an Anniversary stamp to finish it off.  So I printed one off in the right colour, but I did not want a straight cut piece of card to stick on.  Out came the Cuttlebug and my one and only set of Nestabilities.  Step by step instructions were needed to work out how to cut and then to emboss the Happy Anniversary print out.   I cringe every time I put anything through for fear that I might break an expensive plate.  I did get it done safely, and I will show you the result once the card has been delivered.

I have also been busy printing the DVD's I have just copied - the Barbara Gray shows from this week.  The printer threw a wobbly in the middle and had to be told very firmly that the tray WAS in the right place and I did want it to print.  At the same time, the computer threw a different wobbly, insisting the I had to sign in to XMarks, not letting me do anything else.  A bit of internet research solved that one.
Then the Silhouette  decided it needed an update.  It is all go round here.

I hope you all had a good week, and I apologise for how long it took me to get round all those who visited me, and to all those I did not get to - I hope to visit you this week.  Have a good week and a very happy Easter.

I'm having a time trying to leave a message on your blog. Not sure why. I had a chance to use some of those Nesties last week, and I was NOT impressed. Not for the money , anyway. Happy WOYWW from #6.

Hi Maggie,

I'm glad your little sweetie is doing better! That's great that he's getting more mobile and not in as much pain. I wonder if he's on steroids?

Your desk looks very productive! Mine is a total mess. I'm not linking up this week but wanted to stop by and say hello and see what you're up to.

Hugs,
Kay

Don't you just hate it when machines think they know best!
Your desk looks like your having fun.
Glad to hear about Flash on the road to recovery. My pooch had something similar I think...she loves to run and her knee popped out! Sounds horrendous and can happen but the meds worked and she's still flying across the ovals. Well flying as much as a mini shih tzu can I suppose.
Hope all your bee's have buzzed off.
Have a great Easter break and thanks for letting me take a peek ~ Neesie #32

Hi Marg, up late again I see, lol. That Bee problem is unpleasant, I agree. Blogged about the roof today, as I haven't been able to do much crafting this week. Hope you are well, and better from your sting. Love Shaz xx Oh, I saw you were a winner at Craft a Scene! Well done Marg.

Sometimes the simplest things take ages when modern technology kicks off!! Such a cold snowy day here - I have been happily sewing and watching the snowflakes fall.

That looks like a wonderful set of nestabilities. I know what you mean about modern technology .... quite infuriating at times.

I used to fret so much about breaking the Cuttlebug plates in the middle of something that I bought a spare set. Here it is years later and I've never needed them. Having them relaxed me and made me realize that the creaking sounds from the CB are normal. I'm glad your desk is back to the 5 different things going on at once! Life's more fun that way.

Poor Flash! Glad to hear he is better. I realise I haven't been around to see you for a while so will have to play catchup over the weekend! I have been a little busy with the CC101 class!
I am so glad I am not the only one who only has one set of nesties but they are a bit salty especially as we both have the Silhouette! However the nesties are easier to pack for a crop! I think we have the same ones even!! Great minds and all that.....
See you later. Off to the land of nod now!
Hugs and Happy Easter!

hi Maggie
I don't know what I would do without my nesties now, My plates are sooo buckles and marked it's amazing but hey ho they still work brilliantly. dont be frightened of it, it's only a machine!
Thanks for your comments about the wedding Gecko, not sure how it developed but DD2 has one called tango and wanted her involved in the wedding ... hence a stamp is the closes the dear reptile is going to get!
I have other plans afoot nearer the time but can't say any more never know who is reading !!!
