Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 208

No picture as yet as I forgot what day it was again (hope to put one up later), but I had to just say

Happy WOYWW 4th Anniversary.

Well done to Julia for her brilliant idea and her hospitality for all these many weeks.  It is a wonderful achievement and long may it continue.  I know I am not the only person to have received unparalleled support and encouragement from all you wonderful crafters out there.   Your generosity is wonderful.

Hopefully, I will be back next week with a photo, even if it is only the space where my computer was until it went for emergency treatment.  I also have another project to start, but more about that later.

PS I have just re-read what I wrote on my Kindle last night, and predictive text does have a lot to answer for, especially when you are half asleep.  Hopefully, it all makes sense now.

PPS Sorry, folks.  I was going to take another photo today, but I seem to have spent all day on the phone or dealing with other things so I never got round to it. I got the estimate for having the complete roof done, and everything took off from that.  I accepted the quote which was the easy bit.  Then I needed to organise what to do with the caravan while the work is being done.  Part of the time, it is going back to the dealer for some warranty work, then one of our neighbours has offered to have it on his front garden until it can come back.  I am also trying to arrange to have an automatic levelling system fitted to the corner steadies so that I can just stand there with a remote, and position the caravan on site, then another remote will lower the legs with no effort from me.

My chiropractor also told me that I needed massage on my shoulders and back to relieve the stress and tension there, and I managed to book that for the same time as my cleaner comes in, so that needs to be altered.  I would not mind but all this is on the calendar and I still manage to get it wrong.

I am also chasing an electrician who has been recommended to me to have a new door bell fitted.  I am totally cheesed off with these wireless units you buy from B&Q etc, which work beautifully for about a week and then die.  After five of those, I want to go back to a proper old-fashioned mains powered unit which works.

None of this is craft related but that is where my day has gone so far.  I did manage to look up  the Travelodge at Nottingham which is just down the road from where my craft day with Clarity will take place in August.  I think I shall book in for two nights, one before and one after, so I don't have to worry about fighting the motorway traffic on the way there or going home after.  I can then relax and enjoy the day.

I did have a crafty box delivered as well, of which there will be more later.  Enjoy the rest of your WOYWW celebrations.

Ah Maggie, the day just gets away from you when you have those sort of jobs to do - the arranging part is a nightmare, frankly! Am dead impressed that you can get remote levelling....even if it is for the caravan, it sounds super!! I'm with you on the doorbell. Same experiences!

Hi Maggie, good to read your post and see that your getting to grips with repairs to your computer and the roof, replacing the door bell - I so know what you mean about those B&Q bells - the caravan - great idea to have one of those automatic systems fitted, it will make things easier for you. And that you are going to a Clarity craft day - would love to attend one of those too - perhaps the next one that BG has here in Scotland. Look forward to reading about the contents of crafty box. Take care, Elizabeth xx #155

Gosh, you poor thing. I know the feeling when it comes to waiting on estimates. I hope that everything works out well, because I'm sure you're going to look back on this and have a good laugh.

Happy WOYWW4 from #17.

Hi Maggie

I'm trying to catch up with WOYWW, sorry for being late.

Crumbs gal, you've got the wind behind your sails right now. All good stuff too.

My guess is that you'll probably keep the caravan with having the remote levelling of the steadies. That's positive - I used to love caravanning and with wheelie water and waste containers etc. it's all possible.

And am so pleased you'll make a little break of the Clarity trip.

Go Maggie - that's my gal!

Hugs, Di xx

My goodness, you have had a hectic day. Kind of your neighbour to solve the caravan parking problem while the roof is being done.

You are going to feel so much better after your massage...think of how relaxed your shoulders will be!

I would like to send you an ATC. No need to send anything back. You have been through so much and would like to just pop one in the mail.
My email is scrappymo1@gmail.com if you would like to send me your address.

It's wonderful to see you popping up on the hop, Maggie! Happy 4th WOYWW anniversary to you, too, even if you didn't get a picture! It's no wonder you didn't get one with all the bullarky you are having to deal with! Goodness, you give new meaning to, "if it ain't one damn thing, it's another!" I hope ALL of this gets sorted out soon for you. Wish I lived closer to help! Take care, hon. Darnell #34

Sounds as if you have been busy - wish I could help out with all the jobs you have to organise.
Definitely book a few days in Nottingham - could book ore and have a mini holiday - nice around that area.

What a day! Trust things are easing up a bit now, and that you have an opportunity to at least a little crafting - for your sanity!!
