Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 192

This is written on Wednesday, but just before I crawl into bed, but you probably did not want to know that (I will do the grammar and spelling check later).  My desk is just as I left it on Tuesday afternoon, still a mess, but a bit more productive this week.  I am running two jobs in together, starting the cataloguing of my stamps, starting with my Clarity ones, and using some quite pretty peeloffs to make quick cards for stock.    The peeloffs are the kind that have loads of tiny bits (apparently waste, but if you use two different colours, you can mix them to create quite an effective result, and use every scrap too).

Sorting out stamps is quite an interesting occupation and I am only surprised to find I still only have two duplicated so far, which is quite good.  I haven't found a "Thank You" yet, Shaz, but then I do have several sheets of those in peeloffs.   I am not too busy with cards for February (March is a different matter) so it is nice to spend time playing and looking around what I possess.  the theory is that, in the end, I will be able to look at a page full of different trees, decide what I want to use and go straight to the right box.  Any bets on how successful that will be?

OK, Julia, I can hear you asking us to be brief so I am off to bed, and will see you again after 8.00am.  For those of you who are wondering still why I am showing you such a messy desk, just slip over to Julia's in the morning to see lots more desks on show and enjoy a convivial wander round with coffee in hand (cheese scones too) to see what we are all up to all over the world.

Ohhh! Loving what you did with your peeloffs!!! Quite a stunning technique!

I was give the great tip of making a binder of all my stamps when I was a brand new stamper, and I'm so glad I listened for once!!! It's the first place I go before creating and is such a wonderful resource. You'll love yours too!

Happy Crafting!

Your desk looks great, busy not messy! I keep a list of all my stamps in a binder so I don't duplicate. Good luck!

Oh Maggie...I don't have any cheese scones...epic fail! Like what you're doing with the peel offs, what a great idea, they look really effective. As for stamp cataloguing, am deeply impressed. I will never do it..it means tha tI have to put them away in the right place each time after use, and I just know...just plain idle I guess!

You have done well to only have 2 duplicate stamps. I had a look at your previous pics and love the photo of your grandson giving his mum a flower. Her medieval dress is gorgeous.

You're indexing all your stamps? Wow!!! I need to do that, but yeah, it won't happen lol. It isn't that I've got too many or anything, you can't ever have too many! It's that I pretty much know what's where and can usually grab the right drawer or case and there it is. But good on you for indexing!

Best of luck with the cataloging your stamps.
I keep a note of what I have in a notebook by company.
That does for me, but I don't have too many stamps!

You have been a busy bee Maggie and it looks like you have a nice pile of cards ready and waiting for when you need them. I’ve seen those peel off before and Craft Creations do some nice ones that build up on acetate to make a medallion

I love the combined use of the peel offs. What a great idea! You are so organised to be categorising your stamps...mine are a complete mess which i never seem to have time to sort! Happy WOYWW! Thanks for sharing. Caro #72

Hi Maggie, I bet you will be much more successful with your organization efforts than I'm being. But it is a good inspiration for me to not get discouraged, knowing I'm not the only one who didn't organize all my 'schtuff' as I was collecting it. (Shoulda, woulda,didna...and all that jazz). You have a most tidy work area, and I always enjoy seeing your banner with the birds. Gotta find your brayering post I read about (think it was here). I get bogged down when trying to surf around these so interesting WOYWW, that if I stop to read posts, then..well, you can guess the rest of this story. TFS

Very pretty cards Maggie. My idea of cataloging my clear stamps was to put them in two boxes in a cubby by my desk where I can see them and use them more!! Working so far, lol!

Hey Maggie, we must be on the same wavelength as I decided to catalogue my stamps at the start of the year!
I already had them filed in ringbinders in categories, but I was forever paging through the binders to find a certain stamp. i now have the majority of them stamped on A5 sample cards, and filed in a box that sits on my desk - you can see it in my pic (on the floor lol!!) it's the yellow box on the left - saves loads of searching as I just flick thru the samples lol :-)
Happy woyww

Hi, Maggie, just a quick visit to see what you are up to. Unfortunately, the EM is unwell and needs looking after so time for blog-hopping has been limited today. Watched Barbara Gray at the weekend and sat on my hands - though I really would have liked to go mad and buy the lot :) Hope your WOYWW has been happy. Elizabeth x #55

Hi Maggie

I started cataloguing my stamps about a year ago - did loads then got sidetracked. A colour swatch was much faster - but you've made me feel it's time I returned to the stamps :)
