Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others.

Allsorts Challenge - One or more hearts

This is an awful photo - in fact it is a scan, buy it should have been a photo.  Due to the different levels on the card, the focus is poor.  This card is a mixture of bits and pieces I had in various boxes, and is intended as a Ruby Wedding.  I am entering it into the AllSorts Challenge, which is to use one or more hearts.

Keeping true to the idea of using things up and not buying new stuff,  everything came out of various oddment boxes, and my embellishment boxes.  The hearts were together as one embellishment, which were mounted on a sort of hammered finish mirri card, and then onto red glitter card.  The base card is a pale blue pearlescent.  the other bits - the butterfly and the flowers were mounted on acetate, and then coloured inside the framework before cutting them out.

The sentiment was printed onto parchment and then heat embossed, before attaching to mirri card, with a little rose.

Such a pretty card and even though it's intended for a Ruby Wedding, it would also make a perfect Valentine's card...really lovely, Maggie!
Have a wonderful weekend.
Love Emma xx

Beautiful card Maggie! Love the hearts in different papers - and of course red roses for love :) Are the flowers and butterflies peel offs on acetate then - they are a lovely touch?! Plus, you used snippets as a bonus :) Di xx
