Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW 245 - stamps finished, inks next

Why am I showing you a load of blue labels?  Well, it is quite simple, really.  It is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday (or it will be when you get to see this post), the day when a large part of the world of crafting gets together to show what we have been doing during the week and what is left on our desks.  Why don't you all come along and join in?  Just nip over to Julia's Stamping Ground to find out how to join the gang.

The labels are ready to chop up to put onto my Distress Ink Pads before they find their new home with all my other ink pads, right in front of me.  This is all part of my clearing out and sorting and tidying up in my craft room.  My desk is worse than last week because I am in the middle of moving things, as well as having some more painting done in the house that was missed last year.
I think that big pink thing will be going.  I have only just got it, but, at the moment, I am not getting on with it at all.  I prefer the smaller glue runners, which fit comfortably in my hand.

The shelves above the printers is almost sorted now.  All my Clarity stamps are sorted into these numbered brown boxes, with their contents listed in a big folder and cross referenced onto a computer database so that I can find any stamp within 30 seconds.

This last shelf holds the final Clarity boxes with all the letters, numbers and shapes, and my precious Watchbirds, and another box with my stencil brushes in.

Someone asked me last week if glues really had a sell by date.  The answer is yes, they do.  I had several tubes of Pinflair Glue Gel, which I would normally have used easily last year, but, as many of you will know, last year was a bad year and I did very little crafting.  As a result, these glues were not used, and when I went to use some this week (a brand new unopened tube), it was solid as a rock and totally unusable.  When I looked at the tube, it did say that it would last twelve months in a unopened tube, so after two years, it is not surprising that it was deaded, totally.  It was an ex-tube of glue.

Sorry, Julia, I have done my usual trick of rambling on, so I will just finish now and wish you all a very good Workdesk Wednesday.

What happened, Maggie? I didn't race you for first place this week? I bet you were busy sorting and labeling when the post came up (grin). Actually, I'm super impressed with your organization, and you have convinced me I don't want to even think about an ATG, because I can't even get those smaller glue runners to stay on track. You have NO idea how many of them I've messed up by allowing the glue to run off track. Happy WOYWW from #1.

Seriously....Hang on in with you tape gun as once you get the hang of it it is invaluable. Just remember to release the trigger when you stop running it.
you have done so well with your sort out/tidy up and it's looking good.
Take care,
Jo x
ps Have the pencil boxes arrived?

Organising always makes more of a mess before it gets better. Goodness me! 30 Seconds to find a stamp! That is impressive! #32

Very organised Maggie and like Jo says you need to get the hang of those guns. I have two, the pink and the yellow and use them all the time.
Happy Wednesday

Such a seriously well sorted craft area Maggie. Wish I felt a bit more creative but my cold has left me with a fuzzy head and everything is an effort - not like me! x Jo

Goodness that is a lot of stamps! Don't get rid of the pink thing! I have one and LOVE it, but can't get refills in South Africa, so now it just sits there, empty and very sad,
Happy WOYWW!

Oh my would you like to come around and sort out my stash for me :-)
I love my Pink tape runner but it did take a little getting used to and now it's the first thing I grab when needing double-sided glue.
Happy Wednesday,

Look at all that organizing going on! It's looking good. I agree that glues have a use-by date. I had some really old glue that hadn't hardened so I thought it would be okay but the layers peeled apart easily so I guess it lost its stick! I've also had glue become strangely discolored. And hey, I know everyone raves about those pink tape guns, but I'm not a fan of them either.

Looking good! I'm so impressed at how it's all sorted and now labels on inks - I started to colour label mine but never kept it up! Perhaps it's time to get back to it - I do have plans to re-organise my storage though! Chris 83

Hi Marg, I've never been attracted by those glue runners, I have to admit. I prefer normal tape. Don't ever buy Hobbycrafts own brand silicone glue either- that stuff dries in the tube as soon as you've opened it! Awful stuff, went in the bin. Did you see the FB post, those marker wallets are coming your way soon- you can see why in this weeks post. Speak soon, Love Shaz xx
