Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW - 353

I was determined to join in with the blog hop this week, even though my work area looks like a disaster at the moment.  Some of you will already know that I had embarked on a major resort and cataloguing of all my stamps.  I am so nearly there, just three pages of one album and another part album to be done.  The stencils are now all done so they can go away tomorrow.

Why am I showing you a disaster area, you may ask.  Well, every Wednesday, the odd one or two (lots and lots) of crafters of all kinds join together through the generosity of Julia at her Stamping Ground to look at each other's desks to see what everyone is doing.   We are not allowed to do a special tidy up and, in fact, the messier they are the more interesting to see new goodies and techniques.  All crafts are welcome and the rules can be found on Julia's blog at Stamping Ground.  My desk still has the last album to be finished, waiting till tomorrow morning, so you might be able to distinguish some lovely Woodware flower stamps.  This is the album with my non-Clarity stamps put together.

You can also see my TV and DVD remotes, needed close at hand so that I can take all the Clarity programmes from last weekend off the DVD onto disc for future reference.  The Archival Black ink pad will be no more tomorrow as I have totally killed it while building up my stamp catalogue, and the same has happened to the red sticky tape.

I have also been playing with a new set of pens this week, the Sakura Koi Brush Pens, which I think are absolutely fabulous.  I have already posted a couple of designs coloured with them and this is another page in my journal, just to see how well they blend and what else I can do with them.  I have already blogged about them so if you want to know more, please look back.

Meanwhile, it is time I sent you on your way to see if Julia has got the kettle on for you and the addresses for a load more desks to peruse from all parts of the world.  I will wish you a Happy Wednesday and hope to visit your desks in the next couple of days.

You have some pretty big flower stamps too and watching tv would be a bug plus when doing that :) hugs Nikki????

It's a hell of an undertaking, so job nearly well done! Keep going, many (me) wouldn't even have started! Beautiful colouring of the cone flower with the Koi pens.

Wow. Well done, Maggie. Great work to get all that so nearly finished! And still have time to do a bit of playing with your new pens. The results look really good.
Take care. God bless.

Can well imagine what a task and a half that has been for you Maggie ... my recently redesigned stamp-storage is not working (just go too many of the damned things!) and I need yet another rethink. Well done for getting all yours organised! Love to you, Debbie (probably not WOYWW'ing this week as my desk is emptyish!) xXx

Well, that's a labour of love sorting out but worthwhile...I bet you know where everything is now. I hate wasting time searching for stuff! By the way, many congrats for having your cards featured on the craft show..having seen your parchment stuff in real life, you deserve the recognition, they are ethereal and beautiful :-)
Hugs, LLJ 4 xx

Hi dear Maggie,
Tis so very nice to see you here again... and yes I need to update my stamp catalogue rather badly too.. already seen your samples a few days back and so know how nice they are.
BTW re the archival ink pad.. mine is heaps older than yours ie the really old style of lid, I just top it up with reinker and it is still going just fine.. so hunt it out, much cheaper way to go.
Thanks so much for sharing.

It must be the time of year (Spring coming) that everybody is decluttering and organizing... and it works that much easier when you can find all your stencils and stamps. Good luck finishing the job! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #34

Organizing takes so much work and you feel like you are making more of a mess but finally you get there. Or that's what I've heard im not there yet! Keep up the good work.
Have a great day.

The flower is so beautiful. The colours look really vibrant.

I'm curious as to how you are organising your stamps. I just keep mine in drawers though I try to sort them into different themes.

Hi Marg, yes indeed, they had taken on a new staff member recently, but it hadn't worked out, so they are looking again. Wonderful to be so successful, but hard work too, I'm sure. Lovely intense colours from the pens, judging by the blue flower. I bought a refill bottle for my Archival pad, I think it was from Amazon. See you Sunday, Love Shaz xxx

My goodness... It sounds like you are now winding down a major undertaking. I'm sure it will help you to be all the more organized once it is done. Those pens sure are vivid. Happy WOYWW! PJ #60

Well done you! It is a mammoth task sorting out stamps! I've sorted and catalogued my stamps this week but I had a head start because I started the cataloging several years ago so it wa a matter of re-sorting my old catalogue and then adding all the new stamps to it. So glad it has been done now.

I wonder how many times I have given my craft room an overhaul? With me it is like painting the Forth B ridge, I get to the end and start all over again - it takes me so long. Hope yours is very fruitful.
Hugs and Thanks for visiting me (sorry I am late but I think I have the influenza)
Hugs, Neet xx
