Welcome to my blog

I hope you enjoy reading my posts, and please leave me a comment. I always enjoy reading them, and will try to visit you in return.

For security reasons for me and for you, I would appreciate it if you would leave your name on your comments.

You are welcome to copy any of my designs, as long as you do not take credit for them yourself. I am very happy for you to sell them. If I have used anyone else's design, I always try to give credit where it is due. If I have missed anything, please let me know and I will put things right.

This is intended to be mainly about my crafting stories, as a personal record of what I do. However, I interpret crafting quite widely, not just paper crafting but other things too. I have a butterfly mind and like to change from one thing to another depending on what I feel like on a given day - knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, cards, baking and several others, including my favourite right now, parchment, both traditional skills and Groovi, very relaxing and calming to do.

I have decided to put some structure into my blog so that each day will have something of a theme.
Monday- for Mindfulness; Tuesday - Tidy Up Day; Wednesday - What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday; Thursday - Technique and Tips; Friday - Finish Off Day; Saturday - Start Something New; Sunday - Anything Goes
These themes are not hard and fast and will be changed if I feel the need.

WOYWW 303

I apologise to those that left me messages last week.  Unfortunately, life got really complicated and I am ashamed to say that I did not manage to answer all your lovely comments, although I did read them.

This week is not doing any better, and is not helped by bringing a nasty cold and cough back from the NEC.  However, it is Wednesday again so time to visit all the other WOYWW friends.

This was the state of my table on Tuesday afternoon after a session of putting cards together, some of them from the last workshop with Maria Simms at Shrewsbury.  The others are ones that I have been playing with after watching Barbara Gray and Maria demoing at the NEC last week

The following pictures have already been up on Facebook so if you have already seen them, then just ignore them this time round and nip off to Julia to see all the other desks.  They show my new stash from the show.  I am dying to get busy with my new toy, the pyrography machine from Bob Neill, but with a stinking cough I will have to be patient for now.

Just to finish off, how many of you saw a decent eclipse on Friday.  Other people in the town had a reasonable view but not me.  The thicker clouds just rolled in and obliterated the eclipse proper.  I did get some good cloud shots though.

Lots of stash shopping this week! You must be the 4th in almost as many blog visits! I love a bit of stash on view, but oh dear does it tempt me to dash off and shop too...

Happy WOYWW day!

How odd we both came away from the NEC with the razor blade throat and most awful cough and sniffles! We were not together long enough for either of us to have given it to the other so I reckon we must have been following in the footsteps of someone coughing and spluttering their way around the show without the consideration of a pocketfull of tissues! Love to you my dearest friend. xXx

I saw your new stash on FB too! I'm glad you managed to get some stuff even though you were unhappy with the show itself. And boo to picking up a cold there, hope it's short lived......
Hugs, LLJ 24 xx

I reckon you three NEC shoppers have all picked up a cold from there! Hope your cough passes soon..such a pain, especially at night. Ow.
We had a totally invisible eclipse too, so dont take it personally, although your cloud shots at least look more interesting than anything I saw!
That pyrography machine is a beast huh, don't know what I thought it would be, but not that. Oo err, will you be drawing freehand?!!

The eclipse wasn't visible here in the southwest U.S. Love the pics you got. And so many deskers are ill! Almost all who I've visited so far. Hope you get to feeling better! You have some interesting goodies on your desk! Happy WOYWW!

Shame about your cloud cover and lack of seeing the eclipse, I watched it on the computer and it was fantastic. Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly, in no time at all you will be burning wood with your new toy. Have fun and get better soon.

Hi Marg, funnily enough, the cloud cleared just in time over our end of the town!Odd how that happens, I've been speaking to Beck before now, and its been dry by us and raining over hers, or vice versa. I think Debbie is right, and we all followed someone with the dreaded germs- I was pretty much Ok till Friday, then my cold went supernova!
Hope yours is clearing now, Love, Shaz xx

Sorry to hear about your cold. I think that can be a problem in places like the NEC, the germs don't seem able to escape. However, hope you feel better soon and have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 42

Some great buys there, Maggie. Bob Neill and his wife are lovely, aren't they? Just LOVE his wooden hat! John has a pyrography machine like that one - they are fantastic. Enjoy!!!
We didn't see the eclipse either - on the road to the show at the time. Halfway down the A5, about to join the M54....
Take care - have fun with all your goodies.
God bless.
